Jesus was a man who wept, and a man who loved.
… Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him. When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.
When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. “Where have you laid him?” he asked.
“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.
Jesus wept.
Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!”
John 11:30-36 NIV
Jesus shed silent tears as the mourners lead him to the tomb of his friend Lazarus. He shed silent tears for Lazarus’ sisters Martha and Mary, and the people who mourned beside them.
Jesus wept for his friends, and the friends of his friends.
And Jesus wept for us.
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
John 15:12-13 NIV
In Whispered Hopes our eyes are open and wet with tears. We are women caring for others in the moment, struggling and weeping beside our friends in distress, living joyfully and celebrating with our sisters here on earth.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.
