God may come in a whisper.
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks… after the wind there was an earthquake…
after the earthquake came a fire… after the fire came a gentle whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12
God comes in a whisper to invite Elijah out of hiding. Elijah is hiding, not in fear of God, but because he fears his community, the people.
How often are we afraid of people, the illusive “they” with their vocal opinions and blind judgments about our lives? God offers us much more. When we are afraid, God whispers an invitation. When we are weary, God offers restoration and hope.
God puts people on their feet again; he rekindles burned-out lives with fresh hope, restoring dignity and respect to our lives — a place in the sun! 1 Samuel 2:8
Whispered Hopes is looking for volunteers to offer hope. If you are a woman interested in joining our prayer partners, donating gifts, or volunteering to visit the clubs, please contact us.
